PierPass Member Terminals Increase Throughput 46%

Ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach has moved 46% more cargo containers in the first half of March compared to February. This increase in productivity comes in the wake of a tentative labor deal and the formation of a port-wide chassis pool. According to the Marine Exchange of Southern California, the number of ships on queue decreased from 36 in February to 30 in March. “The terminals are intensely focused on returning to normal operations as quickly as possible” said John Cushing, president of PierPass.
